Abortion Doula Care

Whether you’re seeking in-clinic or self-managed abortion care, I offer virtual presence, in-person accompaniment when possible, and help with daily tasks or meals to support your body’s recovery.

I empower my clients to self identify their own capacity to pay for my services and I provide Alexis J Cunningfolk's Green Bottle Scale to help you identify where you fall on my sliding scale. I believe everyone deserves support, so if you are not able to pay at all please contact me anyway and I will work to fund you support whether it is me or otherwise.

what to expect: before

I gift all of my clients with an abortion care package with comfort items I have handcrafted and curated for loving support.

Together we can draft your care plan for what will be most supportive for you and your life so that you don’t have to ask for what you need while in your process.

We can talk about who is going to show up for you in your life/ how to ask.

We can talk about options for creating a ceremony/ritual/process/container around your experience.

We can discuss your favorite foods, physical comfort practices and define what you want to get out of your experience.

We will discuss what kind of language feels safe to use around your care and body.

We can plan an abortion shower to celebrate you choosing yourself.

what to expect: during

I stay present with you throughout your process, whether that means sitting beside you in person or holding space virtually.

We move at the pace your body and heart need, checking in often and adjusting the care plan as things unfold.

I can help you track symptoms, remind you of comfort measures, and reach out to your care team on your behalf if that is helpful.

I will remind you of the ritual or ceremony we planned together, and help you carry it out if you still want to.

Above all, I am there to witness you and make sure you don’t have to move through this alone.

what to expect: after

Recovery doesn’t end when the abortion does, so I check in with you in the days and weeks that follow.

We can talk through anything that is coming up for you, physically or emotionally, with no expectation of how you should feel.

I can connect you with additional resources, whether that is grief support, physical care, or community.

We can revisit the abortion shower or ceremony we planned, or create a new one, whenever feels right for you.

My support continues for as long as you need it, on your terms.

About Libby

My name is Libby (she/her) and I have been working across the reproductive justice spectrum for the last decade. I serve as an advocate for survivors of violence. I have lobbied around repealing antiquated abortion laws, served as an in-clinic abortion doula for two clinics and been involved in policy work and abortion education with an Indigenous led grassroots organization in Northern NM, Tewa Women United. It is important to me that my role as a doula is rooted in larger activism as well as direct care, because I believe a more compassionate landscape around abortion care will support the individual’s experience as well.
